September 24, 2018

(ANCHORAGE, AK) — Today, Alyse Galvin for Congress announced a commitment to hold a public town hall in Anchorage, Juneau, and Fairbanks between now and Election Day. All town halls will be livestreamed on Facebook. The Fairbanks Town Hall will take place on Friday, October 12 at 6:30pm at UAF Wood Center. The Anchorage Town Hall will take place on Tuesday, October 23 at 5:00 p.m. at Mountain View Library. The Juneau Town Hall will take place on Sunday, October 21 at Centennial Hall.

“I am dedicated to showing up for the hardworking people of Alaska,” said Alyse Galvin. “My opponent Don Young refuses to hold public town halls, calling them ‘unproductive’ and a ‘show’ for the media. I disagree. I believe that Alaskans must be able to have face-to-face conversations with their elected representatives. Over the past six months, I have had the honor of traveling to and meeting with community members in Bethel, Kenai, Soldotna, Kotzebue, Napaskiak, Cordova, Haines, Hope, Ketchikan, and Sitka, with many more visits planned. Our town halls in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau serve as another example of our commitment to show up for and listen to voters. Alaskans in the entire state are welcome to join us in person or by following along on social media.”

The town halls will be announced beforehand, open to the public, free of charge, and are not limited by pre-registration or tickets.

All public events will be announced on our website,, and on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Alyse Galvin is an Independent and the Alaska Democratic Party’s nominee for U.S. Congress. She will face Rep. Don Young in the general election on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.
